The University of San Diego, or USD, has an incredible School of Business preparing students for careers ranging from business finance and administration to supply chain management. As an undergraduate, you can even minor in entrepreneurship! USD has a well-connected network within the community. One exciting opportunity for students is the USD Entrepreneurship Club lunch-time hour where students can get insight and hear impactful stories from business owners. This is a great chance for entrepreneurs to give back to the community and encourage other problem solvers to start their own companies and make a positive impact.

On October 29th 2019, Access Trax CEO Kelly Twichel had the opportunity to present to the USD EClub on campus. Students learned her story from product idea to business launch and beyond while asking questions and receiving practical advice. Kelly enjoys sharing her passion for entrepreneurship and social impact business. One of her favorite things to share is the wise advice from Simon Sinek about the Golden Circle. In this concept, Simon encourages entrepreneurs to focus on the “why” of their product or service. In his famous lecture, Simon states, “People don’t buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it.” Knowing your purpose and effectively communicating that to your customers is so essential. It is how you develop your brand and customer trust and loyalty.

In addition to presenting to the USD EClub, Kelly has volunteered to speak at elementary schools, high schools, and even In-Services for rehabilitation professionals like occupational and physical therapists. To have Kelly come speak about entrepreneurship, accessibility, or adaptive sports at your event, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
